100 Days of Pattern Design

One hundred days. One pattern at a time.

What began as a commitment to make something every day quickly became a journey of experimentation, learning and discovery. Some days the ideas flowed easily. Other days involved false starts, creative detours and the occasional design that never quite matched what I had imagined.

The value wasn’t in perfection. It was in the practice.

Over 100 days, I explored colour, texture, historical influences, abstract forms, florals, geometric structures and everything in between. I learned what feels natural in my work, what I return to instinctively, and where I still want to grow.

This challenge helped shape the creative foundations of Designed by Fi. It reminded me that a design style isn’t something you decide on one afternoon—it emerges through making, reflecting, experimenting and continuing to show up.

The work featured throughout this journal captures that process: not just the finished patterns, but the learning behind them.
