Hi, I’m Fi, a Sydney-based surface pattern designer exploring colour, pattern and decorative design through a daily creative practice.
I’m drawn to colour, texture and decorative design, and I’m particularly interested in the relationship between organic forms and graphic structure. My work explores pattern as a complete visual story, where colour, shape and rhythm come together to create something expressive and engaging.
In 2026, I committed to creating a pattern every day for 100 days. What began as a personal challenge quickly became a creative turning point. Through daily experimentation, reflection and making, I began to develop a deeper understanding of my own design voice, discovering what excites me, what keeps me curious and where I want to take my work next.
This website serves as both a portfolio and a journal. It documents the patterns I create, the lessons I learn, the influences I explore and the process of building a creative practice from the ground up.
The patterns you’ll find here are part of an ongoing exploration of colour, structure, texture and form. Some ideas are fully resolved, while others are experiments that reveal new directions and possibilities.
Designed by Fi is still in its early chapters. I’m developing my skills, refining my style and building a business around a love of colour, pattern and decorative design. This space is an invitation to follow that journey as it unfolds.
